Walter de Cantilupe : ウィキペディア英語版 | Walter de Cantilupe
Walter de Cantilupe (died 1266) (anciently ''Cantelow, Cantelou, Canteloupe, etc'', Latinised to ''de Cantilupo'') 〔The spelling used by modern historians is "de Cantilupe", which is followed in this article〕 was a medieval Bishop of Worcester. ==Life==
Walter came from a family that had risen by devoted service to the crown. His father, William I de Cantilupe,〔(British History Online Bishops of Worcester ) accessed on 3 November 2007〕 and his elder brother William II de Cantilupe were named by Roger of Wendover among the evil counsellors of King John of England, apparently for no better reason than that they were consistently loyal to an unpopular master.
